July 2009:

Hello everyone,

This is my first time sending anything to the Class of 79 Bio page - so here goes . . .

I've been married for 27 years to Bernie Brunner. He's an opthalmic technician for Northern Eye Institute in Hermantown, MN. They do eye exams, surgery etc. Yes I had lasik about 7 years ago. Previously he worked for Dr. Austin in the Medical Arts Building for 20 years. I work at Unitedhealthcare and have been there for 7 years now. I process claims for patients with complex medical conditions such as cancer and organ transplants. I really pay out the big bucks. Whew.

We live outside of Proctor in Midway Township. The land was purchased by my father before I was born. We have 40 acreas here and my mom, who by the way just turned 92, and brother live down the road from us on the same 40. It was great for the boys gowing up.

Bernie enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. I love to knit, sew, garden, and we all play cards and board games.

We have 3 children. All boys, my sister-in-laws give me a lot of credit being the only female in the family.

Ben is 23. Just moved back home to go back to school. He's planning on being an IT technician. His girlfriend, Tara, just passed her boards for her RN degree. I'm hoping to hear wedding bells in the near future.

Andy is 20. He still lives at home. Had a rough start on life - was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at age 7. It's been a real struggle for him and his blood sugars. He's plans on going back to school. Right now he's working at the Country Kitchen in Proctor and is really enjoying it.

Scott is 17 and will be senior at Proctor High School this year. He plays football, hunts and enjoys fishing. He's not sure which path he will take yet. He's been working at Adolph Store for 2 years now. He works back at the meat counter - learned much about processing meat and being a butcher. He has decided that he doesn't want to be butcher.

We have 3 dogs. Beau a golden retriever, 12 yrs. Sampson a choc lab 6 yrs, and Thor my "norwegian weiner dog." One cat Terror Toes and two fishtanks. Yes it sounds like a zoo. We did raise chickens for many years - only for the eggs as they were all pets as well. Tried raising some mallards and that didn't work out too well as our golden retrieved them for us one day and left them all at the front door. Sigh.

So that's it in a nutshell.
