June 2009::
Hi everyone,
I was looking forward to the big 30th get together having missed the last one, but I am committed to be out of town and will miss another one. After almost thirty years of never having left Duluth, I am finally starting to see some classmates on a semi-regular basis. It remains a mystery to me how we never seem to cross paths. Mick Thorstad and I ran into each other last fall we have been doing lunches about every 6 weeks and it has been great catching up with him. If anyone is interested in joining us, just drop me note at jolson@points-north.com and we will let you know when the next lunch is set for. Scott Anderson has moved back to Duluth and along with Charlie Nelson we have been getting together on a informal schedule as well. Also ran into Chris Foucault, Julie (Jezerski) Gross, Jess and Kris (Knordwall) Peterson, and Julie Rouleau (sorry Julie….cannot recall your married name). Had fun talking to everyone and they filled me in on others.
Family is good, daughter Chelsea just cleared grad school in Speech Language Pathology and got a job right away locally, a very nice deal for us to have her remain local. Daughter Briana just completed a one year course in Massage Therapy….funny thing, I never got so much as a trial massage…….she kept saying “show me the money”….I kept telling her I have been………. Marlys and I are approaching the 29 year mark and are still in Hunters Park area in the same house since 1981. Still doing as much outdoor recreation and interests as possible. Getting a lot of use out of Spirit Mountain in the winter and filling the summers with as much time on the water and other outdoor fun stuff as possible.
I have been overseeing operations and finance for “Points North” for the past three plus years, a business software company based in Duluth doing business across the country. Not to many dull moments as “Dilbert” is now tragically funny on a daily basis…..yes, that comic strip is grounded in reality, trust me. I look forward to catching up with everyone at some point. If you’re ever in town (other than the week of the reunion when I am gone), my office is in the heart of Canal Park and easy to find. Our business is located on the second floor over Lil Angies Restaurant. Drop in or call 218-391-6646 while you are cruising the canal area. Best wishes and be well everyone.

2005::
Hi everyone,
What an excellent job on the website, very impressive Jeff. Its nice to see so many responses and equally nice to see how everyone is getting along. I am still in Duluth feeling very fortunate to have lived here my whole life. I currently oversee regional operations for Como Oil and Propane and office out of downtown Duluth. Just celebrated our 24th Wedding anniversary and Marlys remains after 19 years at SMDC as the Insurance and Claims Manager. We have two great daughters who we are very proud of, Chelsea 18 and Briana 14. Chels just graduated and will be at UMD this year and Bri starts at East (yes, I know, sorry). We do not stay home a whole lot and pretty much like to be outside as much as possible. We keep very busy with camping, fishing, motorcycling, water skiing, in-line skating, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. We also represent some of the worst golfers in the area. (really bad, but its fun.)
I am still amazed how few of the class I see and when I do run into someone it is even more amazing that they usually live in Duluth. I was truly hoping to see everyone at the reunion but currently have travel plans out of Duluth on the weekend. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put yet another reunion together and this great web page. Have fun.
With kindest wishes and best regards,
Jim
