Len Haapanen

July 2009:

It's hard to believe 5 years have past and it's a class reunion again. The Haapanen family is doing well. Since the last update I am now working for the Duluth Transit Authority. As a kid I rode the "Blue & Green Limousine" with all my friends. I now dispatch the buses and enjoy doing so.

We still live on a hobby farm in Esko where I raise beef cattle. I started playing basketball again a couple of years ago which I have really enjoyed. I've been playing at the old west Jr. High gym which for a Lincoln Jr. High kid was known as the "enemy" gym.

My wife Rebecca is now working as an Administrative Assistant at our church Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. She is in the process of getting her ordination papers to be a pastor. Alex, my oldest, is now in college at North western in St. Paul where he is playing football and going into teaching High School Math. Seth will be a senior at Esko this year and also plays football. Abby is going to be a junior and is playing volleyball. John is going into 3rd and likes to farm with his dad. Our last edition is Elizabeth who is 2 and keeps us young! She is the caboose of the family is loved and adored by all!

We are still very involved in our church and busy on a house remodeling project this summer.

It's good to keep in touch-take care!

2005: Len and Rebecca Haapanen live on a hobby farm in Esko, MN. It's nice to have cows, pigs and a horse and to be a hobby farmer. He also makes hay on the old family farm in McGreggor.

Len works for a trucking company - Dens Inc. and dispatches large oversize loads.

Rebecca works for Avon and Perkins and homeschools some of our children.

We have 4 kids: Alex 15, Seth 13, Abby 12, and John 3. Alex plays basketball on a good 8th grade team and finished 2ND in the state pacesetter tournament. Seth plays baseball and enjoys dirt bike riding . Abby plays softball and loves riding her horse. John is just a fun little boy who likes farming with his dad.

Len teaches Sunday School and is the head of the Pioneer Boys group at church. He enjoys bike riding which he traded for running because of basketball knees!!

God is still GOOD!
