Hmm? What has happened since standing on the steps of Denfeld High in 1979 getting pictures taken with my parents? I purchased a really great washer and dryer. Oh, and I got married (well, twice) and had three very talented and smart children. In fact I still have them. Claire is 14, Lydia 13 and Gerrit 11. A spare, Jake, came along with marriage number two. He is 18. Husband number two, John, is clearly an upgrade and a keeper.
I escaped the corporate world about seven years ago to start my own consulting business. Overall, it has been a great change. I live in Edina and spend a lot of time driving kids around in a silver Honda mini van (the purchase of which inspired an existential crisis from which I have mostly recovered). Currently I am recovering from a skiing accident I had in April. I shattered my femur, tore my MCL and damaged my rotator cuff. It was a fluke. My left ski got caught up in a pile of slush and it slowed down - nothing else slowed down. Physics...it is unyielding. Now I am wrapping up my third month in a wheelchair. I am hoping for good news at my next doctor visit and therefore get to the task of walking again.

My name is now Lisa Guthmiller. I have three children (ages as of October 2008): Claire 13, Lydia 12, and Gerrit 10. I am happy to report they are beautiful and brilliant. I left the corporate world in 2002 to start my own business. I had been Vice President of Internet Marketing for American Express, but now I am a business consultant for large financial firms. The financial industry is not my passion, but it pays the bills. In the winter I take time to teach downhill skiing.
